Introduction

This is the official homepage of Malaysia Smile Action Team Association (Reg. No: 3929-11-WKL).

Malaysia Smile Action Team Association, previously known as Smile Action Team, was founded by Dr. Wong Ruen Yuan and other team members since 2009 when he first led 9 members to visit an orphanage in Cambodia.

The objective of Smile Action Team is to provide necessary dental care for underprivileged children, women and old folks regardless of their cultural background in least developed area and countries.

In March 2010, the Smile Action Team participated in a real TV programme in 'Sejuta Impian' by TV 3 which was sponsored by Dana Belia 1 Malaysia and Telekom Malaysia (TM). The presenters, Phoebe Lim Mei Yee and Choy Kim Lee convinced the judges to fund the team for their future projects with the amount of RM18,000. Owing to the noble objective of the team, the judges also granted the team with another RM2,000 to register as an official non-governmental organisation.

Today, Malaysia Smile Action Team Association safeguards 9 childcare centers and orphanage homes in Cambodia and six in Malaysia. We hope to revisit these centers at least once a year, and we also wish to attract more young volunteers to join the NGO and spread the hopes and smiles for the needy ones.
